About Me

I am a registered member (MBACP) of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I hold an MA in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from Roehampton University, a BACP-accredited institution. Over the past five years, I have worked with individuals and couples through Relate and in private practice. My clinical background includes supporting people in a variety settings, such as NHS Talking Therapies and Help Counselling, where I worked with clients from diverse backgrounds with a range of emotional needs. I have also supported parents of children with complex medical needs at The Maypole Project. My experience includes delivering single- session therapy, assessments, and both short- and long-term therapeutic work.

Before qualifying as a psychotherapist, I worked for nine years in Health and Social Care sector, supporting individuals with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs, while working closely  with families and health professionals. In Brazil, I facilitated a support group within a Psychosocial Service, and later, after living in the UK for a few years,  I trained as a group facilitator. I have also worked in schools, managing classes and assisting students, which has further enriched my understanding of emotional wellbeing across different stages of life.

Alongside my clinical work, I have developed academic projects exploring themes such as media representations of female empowerment, bicultural identity, and the experiences of women entering middle age in the context of online dating and wellbeing.

As a bilingual therapist fluent in English and Portuguese, and with lived experience in both Brazil and the UK, I bring a strong awareness of how culture and diversity shape personal identity. This perspective helps me to support clients from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and life experiences. I am also a member of the Therapy and Social Change (TaSC) Network, reflecting my commitment to addressing social inequalities through therapeutic work.

I provide relationship counselling and clinical psychotherapy as a relational integrative therapist. My approach is grounded in a humanistic perspective, and together we explore both conscious and unconscious processes that shape the experience of individuals and couples. I help clients navigate relationship challenges as well as internal struggles that may manisfest as depression or anxiety or other forms of emotional distress that impact their wellbeing and sense of self. I also believe that social and cultural factors play a significant role in people’s lives and I take these seriously in my therapeutic approach.
